Letter from the President
Welcome to the Central Florida Chapter of the The Central Florida Chapter was chartered in 1998 as the second SGMP chapter in Florida. Currently, our Chapter has 133 members and we are growing! By joining SGMP, you take the extra step to advance your meeting planning abilities. Like most of us, we feel the pressure at our jobs to "work smarter, not harder". This is THE organization for those who jobs encompass meeting and/or event planning. Members receive professional development, advice from colleagues and networking opportunities. This is the place to get the information to help you achieve better results on the job. It is a privilege and an honor to have been elected president of the SGMP Central Florida Chapter. Each year we strive to make our Chapter a stronger, more dynamic force for training and education in the meeting planning industry. During my tenure, we will continue to build upon that foundation by focusing on our strengths – leadership, education and networking. In keeping with this mission, I would like to personally ask for your support as we strive to accomplish our goals throughout the next two years. We need your help with increasing chapter membership by telling your colleagues about SGMP and by attending monthly meetings. Help us improve our activities by being part of the solution when something doesn’t work and by sharing your ideas for new chapter successes. Many hands make for light work, and we ask you to reach out and help with an activity at least once a year, so we establish a stronger network of members and build relationships between planners and suppliers. Remember, we are part of something bigger – we are part of an organization with 27 chapters and 4,000 members across the country. You can go almost anywhere in the US, and find a network of SGMP friends and colleagues you can count on. Thank you for your support during my presidency.
